Abstract Submission

Call for abstracts:

We welcome submissions for Feature talks (20 minutes), Focus talks (10 minutes), Blitz talks (5 minutes) and posters under the six conference themes:

  • Developments in the Social Identity Approach to health
  • Social Identity and physiological indicators of health
  • A Social Identity Approach to Trauma
  • Social identity, health, and social justice
  • Mental health and Well-being
  • Stigma, Marginalisation, and Social Curses

Abstract submission opens on 1st March 2024 and will close at 5pm, Wednesday 3rd April 2024 (GMT+1). Abstract evaluations/acceptance notifications will be rolling.

Presentation Formats

Feature Talks:

20 minutes (15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A)

Focus Talks:

10 minutes

Blitz Talks:

5 minutes

Poster Presentation:

1 page poster

Submission Policy

  • Individuals can be the first author/presenter for a maximum of two submissions for a Talk or a Poster Presentation. There is no limitation on participation as co-author in any submission types.
  • Only one abstract per submission.
  • All presenters must be a paid registrant of the conference.
  • The author is solely responsible for the ethical and scientific content of the submission as well as for its proper grammatical and stylistic form.
  • There are no fees for submitting abstracts.
  • The Scientific Committee will determine the final mode of presentation, taking into account the quality of the proposals, their relationships, temporal and technical possibilities.

Talks Submission Structure:

First Author/ Presenter:

Name, email address, affiliated institution: In instances of multiple authorship, the first author is expected to be the presenter.

Co-authors:

Names, email address, highest educational degree obtained, country, affiliated institution, and institution country and city.

Preferred Mode of Presentation:

Please select “Feature” or “Focus” or “Blitz” or “poster”.

Thematic Streams:

Please choose one of the conference themes. If you are unsure which stream to choose, contact the organising committee.

Title of Presentation:

Please choose a brief title that clearly indicates the content of the contribution. Please avoid abbreviations in the title.

Abstract:

Please ensure that your abstract contains no more than 300 words. Please avoid diagrams, illustrations, tables, references or graphics in the abstract. Provide maximum relevant information in the abstract. If the subject matter is empirical, the following structure is obligatory: The objective, methods, results, and conclusions.

Keywords:

Please indicate up to 5 keywords for your abstract.

Guidelines for Poster Presentation

Poster Presentation:

Poster Presentations allow presenters to showcase their contribution in a Poster.

Abstracts accepted as Posters for ICSIH6 will be grouped together by thematic stream. The Authors of the accepted abstracts for poster presentations should submit their poster in an electronic format ahead of the start of the conference.

During the Conference, posters will be displayed during specially dedicated sessions – to allow as many participants as possible to interact with the poster. We advise all authors to use a QR code for their email address, so that other participants can contact them easily during and after the conference.

Further details on the poster presentation will follow in due course.
